PRAYER FLAGS AT DZOKCHEN MONASTERY (Photo by
Tashi Duane) Prayer flags are a means of projecting beneficial wishes for all
beings, as the wind carries to the four quarters the intention and motivation of
the prayers printed on the flags. Here, sheets of prayer flags are strung in a
mandala-like structure around a central pole. Dzokchen is one of the oldest,
largest and most revered Nyingma monasteries in Kham.
