A full view of the Shakyamuni tangka, a Tibetan scroll appliqué banner of silk, laid out on the hillside behind Drepung Monastery. This tangka is unveiled once a year during the autumn tangka festival. Shakyamuni is flanked by guardian deities and saints of the dominant Gelugpa sect, to which the Dalai Lama belongs.
