The Indian adepts (mahasiddha) Virupa, Kanha, Damarupa and Avadhutipa from the Margaphala lineage (Tibetan: lam dre bu dang che pa. English: the Path Together with the Result) of the Sakya School. This painting is the 2nd from a large set portraying all of the lineage teachers of the Lamdre tradition.
Starting at the top right (proper), the third figure in is the blue Primordial Buddha Vajradhara followed to his right by the brown coloured mahasiddha Virupa, Sachen Kunga Nyingpo, etc. all descending down the right side. This is the Near Lineage of the Marghapala teaching system. Moving to the left of Vajradhara is the red Vajrayogini followed by Naropa and the Nepalese Pamting brothers and the lineage of teachers for the practice of Vajrayogini. Both lineages end at the bottom register separated by the principal Sakya protector Panjarnata Mahakala.
