Shantarakshita, 8th century.

Art Represented in Art: at the bottom left is Shakyamuni Buddha representing the famous sculptural image in the Jowo Lhakang Temple in Lhasa, Tibet. The figure of the Buddha is also identifiable by the conch shell depicted at the heart of the image. (See a page of detail images).
