Naropa, Mahasiddha: based on the iconographic depictions of the Eighty-four mahasiddhas according to the Vajrasana system. This painting is likely part of an 85 painting set depicting the individual siddhas in a single composition and with a central painting of Vajradhara bringing the total to 85.

Also see the Ford 43 painting set, Dzaya Pandita 13 painting set and the Prajnaparamita block print set of 85 images all with the same iconographic depictions.
