Interpretation / Description

Shakyamuni Buddha: belonging to a set of nine paintings depicting the fifty-one deities of the Medicine Buddha mandala.

At the lower left is the wrathful blue Dharma protector Panjaranata Mahakala with the light blue goddess Ekajati below. At the lower right side is the meditational deity and long life goddess white Ushnishavijaya with three faces and eight hands. Below that is a donor figure.
