Vajrayogini/varahi can be generally divided into two categories of appearance, standing and dancing. For the standing category there are only four well known traditions and some minor or miscellaneous traditions: Naro Khechari, Dechen Gyalmo, Artasiddhi and Shridhara.

Naro Khechari and Dechen Gyalmo are depicted consistently with both legs pressed tp the ground. The Artasiddhi and Shridhara traditions have variations. Sometimes the two legs are both standing and sometimes with one leg pressed down and the other leg raised in a dancing posture.
