Prajnaparamita: Twenty-One Taras, Longchen Nyingtig

Twenty-one Taras Main Page | Prajnaparamita List

(The block print images below are included in an Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra text).

The Longchen Nyingtig Tradition popularized by Jigme Lingpa is very similar to the system of the Atisha Twenty-one Taras. In the Longchen system the figures have a single face and two arms with the right hand and leg extended forward. Held in the left hand, blossoming over the left shoulder, is a flower supporting a symbolic attribute for each of the twenty-one Taras.
