Jangchub Dorje, the 12th Karmapa (1703-1732): with an image of Tara above and lineage teachers at the sides and below.

Kar ma pa Biographical Details

The right hand is extended across the right knee in the gesture (mudra) of supreme generosity and the left holds a folio book in the lap. Attired in the garb of a monk the head is adorned with the black vajra crown - a gift of the Ming emperor Yung Lo to the 5th Karmapa.
