Akshobhyavajra, Guhyasamaja (Tibetan: mi kyo dor je, sang wa du pa. English: the Unshakeable Vajra, Secret Assembly). The chief meditational deity of the Father (method) classification of Anuttarayoga Tantra, surrounded by eight attendant retinue deities. This composition belongs to a much larger set of paintings depicting the twenty-seven special deities of the Kagyu Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism as it came down through the Karma kagyu sub-school.
