Interpretation / Description

AMNH Description

Medicine Buddha retinue figure, either Neche or Vajra. Both of these Yaksha Generals hold a sword in their right hand. The only way to distinguish them is by colour or by a name or number inscription on the back of the sculpture.

In the Northern direction, Neche, smokey-coloured and holding a sword in the right hand and a mongoose in the left. He is the sixth of the twelve Yaksha Generals in the Medicine Buddha mandala.
