Interpretation / Description

King Ralpachen of Tibet, (sang wa'i dag po tri ral je) from a set of paintings depicting the early Dharma Kings such as Trisongtsen Gampo and Trisong Detsen.

At the top center is a form of Padmasambhava. On the right is Amoghasiddhi Buddha. At the lower right is Tara #14 from the Suryagupta set of Twenty-one Taras.

At the top left is the Tibetan teacher Kawa Darseng (thag ma bka ba dar seng) [BDRC136]. Below him is his student Shupu Namkha Sengge (shu phu nam mkha' seng ge) [BDRC p1318], a 12th century Tibetan teacher of the Kadam school. These two are considered holders of the Lamrim teaching lineage in the Gelug school.

At the bottom left is Krodha Vajrapani. At the center is Black Jambhala. On the right side is Yontan Gyalpo Pehar - King of Qualities.
