Himalayan Art Resources (HAR), a first-of-its-kind, has been the world leader for over 26 years in the study, presentation and promotion of Himalayan Art.

HAR is a digital platform and online resource accessible to all. It features over 100,000 art images, over 9,350 custom subject pages and essays, over 1,000 visual
outline pages, introductions to all of the key themes, interactive maps and more. A wealth of supporting multimedia resources—including over 80 hours of audio, 800 videos, and to emphasize - over 100,000 images, providing context to the aesthetics, regions, cultures, and spiritual traditions of the Himalayas. Dozens of subject-specific glossaries with pronunciations, together with topic-specific bibliographies, along with numerous original curricula and teaching resources offer both practical and advanced tools for the novice, classroom or university environments. During the past 26 years over 250 international experts, collectors, researchers and scholars from different fields and disciplines have contributed to making the site the world's premiere resource for the study and promotion of Himalayan and Inner Asian art.

Digital Online Resource
The HAR Team excels in three key areas: the first is maintaining the Digital Online Resource - HAR Website - along with the ongoing cataloging and uploading of new collections.

Coordination of Resources
The second area is the Coordination of Resources from various online platforms and their inclusion onto the HAR website, using links, references, and curated content selections, from the Buddhist Digital Resource Center (BDRC), the Treasury of Lives biography website, the 84000: Translating the Words of the Buddha, The Tibetan and Himalayan Library (THL), Tibeto-Logic and Lotsawa House: Translations of Tibetan Buddhist Texts - all online resources.

Consulting, Exhibitions & Museums
The third area is Consulting, Exhibitions & Museums where the HAR Team assists in collections management, cataloguing both museum and private collections, mounting exhibitions (approximately 12) and working with start-up museums.

To date the HAR Team has assisted with three start-up museums.
- Rubin Museum of Art (New York, USA)
- Dargye Museum (Chengdu, China)
- Zhiguan Museum (Beijing, China)
Since 1997, the mission of Himalayan Art Resources (HAR) is to create a comprehensive education and research database, a virtual museum, and to engage the broader culture from an art perspective.
