Interpretation / Description

Maha Pratisara at the center of the Pancha Raksha Fifty-six Deity Mandala.

The Five Pancha Raksha Female Deities are: Maha Pratisara, Maha Sahasrapramardini, Mahamayuri, Sitavati and Mantramanudharani.

At the top left side is Arya Maitreya, the future buddha. At the top right side is Arya Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom.

At the bottom left side is Pita Jambhala, yellow in colour. At the bottom right side is Krishna/Kala Jambhala, black in colour. Between the four outer deities are the Eight Auspicious Symbols, each on a lotus seat, encircled by a dark halo.
