Interpretation / Description

Amitabha, Buddha (Tibetan: o pa me, sang gye, English: the Enlightened One of Immeasurable Light), red in colour, holding a black begging bowl.

At the top center is another Buddha Amitabha with Avalokiteshvara and Guru Rinpoche seated at the sides. At the left corner is the deity Sitatapatra holding a parasol. At the right corner is the Buddha Shakyamuni.

Filling the landscape in front are the Eight Great Bodhisattvas, 'heart sons of the Buddha.' At the bottom center is the wrathful wisdom protector Shadbhuja Mahakala.
