Interpretation / Description

Guru Dragpo, Dragtung (Sanskrit: Guru Krodha, Heruka. English: Wrathful Teacher, Blood-drinker): the Indian teacher Padmasambhava manifesting as a complex meditational deity.

Fierce in appearance, red in colour, with three faces and six hands, he embraces the blue consort Vajra Dakini. Large blue wings unfurl behind as bright orange flames surround him. Retinue figures encircle above and to the sides with various protectors arranged below.
