Interpretation / Description

Lama Portrait: gazing forward with the body in a formal meditation posture, the two hands perform the mudra (gesture) of teaching at the heart while holding the stems of two pink lotus flowers blossoming over each shoulder. Atop the head is a very dark lotus crown. Deities and Indian scholars are placed above and Tibetan lamas sit below.
