Each of the paintings of Mahakala in this gallery have similar compositions and very similar circles of fire surrounding the central figure. All of the examples are from the Kham Province of Eastern Tibet and more specifically from the Dege region, in or near Dzongsar Monastery - made famous by Jamyang Khyente Wangpo.
