Sadhana Sagara (Jamyang Shepa) | Abhaya Group

Firstly, Known as Sadhana Sagara was the compilation of aspiration of various Sadhanas empowered by earlier individual siddhis which were compiled by Abhaya. But translated by Yarlung Lotsawa Gragspa Gyaltsen that consist 242 Sadhana and Dharani. There are 18 Sadhanas and Dharanis which do not need empowerments. Remaining 224 Sadhanas have 141 numbers of empowerments.

If the deity, body color, attribute and mantras are the same, you can use one empowerment even it consist of many Sadhanas. If the deity, body color, attribute and mantras are different then you would need empowerments for each Sadhana separately. For example Rakta Yamari and Yamantaka.

Even if the deity, number of faces and hands are same but not the mantras, you need empowerments for each individual deity separately. For example, Avalokiteshvara of Hala Hala and Prajnaparamita, yellow with two hands.

Secondly, even if there were 150 Sadhanas translated by Patshab Lo tsawa Nyi ma grags but you could hardly find oral transmission and empowerment. The Sadhana begins with recollection of Ratna.

Lastly, Rdor je gdanpa brothers, byang chub sems dpa', Shilakara and Berotsana from whom Bari lotsawa had received Sadhana teachings. You would see the notes at the end of every Sadhanas that were translated by him. There are 92 Sadhanas that bear similar descriptions therefore it has 79 empowerments.

In some earlier text there were some additional versions which consist of 100 Sadhanas were translated by other translators not by Bari.

དང་པོ། སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་རྒྱ་མཚོར་གྲགས་པ་ཨབྷྱས་སྔོན་གྱི་པཎ་གྲུབ་ཆེན་པོ་སོ་སོའི་ཐུགས་བཞེད་ཀྱི་སྒྲུབ་ཡིག་གནང་བ་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་བསྡུས་པ་ཡར་ཀླུང་ལོ་ཙ་བ་གྲགས་པ་རྒྱལ་མཚན་གྱིས་བསྒྱུར་བ་འདི་ལ་སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་གཟུངས་བཅས་པ་ཉིས་བརྒྱ་དང་བཞི་བཅུ་ཞེ་གཉིས་ཡོད། རྗེས་གནང་མི་དགོས་པའི་སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་དང་གཟུངས་བཅོ་བརྒྱད་ཡོད། རྗེས་གནང་དང་འབྲེལ་བ་ཉིས་བརྒྱ་དང་ཉི་ཤུ་རྩ་བཞི་ལ་རྗེས་གནང་བརྒྱ་དང་ཞེ་གཅིག་བྱས་ཏེ། ལྷ་དང་སྐུ་མདོག་དང་ཕྱག་མཚན་དང་སྔགས་རྣམས་གཅིག་ན་སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་མང་པོ་ལའང་རྗེས་གནང་གཅིག་གིས་ཆོག། ལྷ་དང་སྐུ་མདོག་ཕྱག་མཚན་སྔགས་རྣམས་མི་གཅིག་ན་རྗེས་གནང་དགོས་ཏེ། གཤིན་རྗེ་གཤེད་དམར་དང་དགྲ་ནག་བཞིན། སྔགས་མི་གཅིག་ན་ལྷ་དང་སྐུ་མདོག་ཞལ་ཕྱག་གྲངས་གཅིག་ཀྱང་རྗེས་གནང་སོ་སོར་བྱ་སྟེ། དཔེར་ན་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཧ་ལ་ཧ་ལ་བཞིན་དང་། ཤེར་ཕྱིན་སེར་མོ་ཕྱག་གཉིས་མ་བཞིན་ནོ།

གཉིས་པ་འབྲིང་པོ་ནི། པ་ཚབ་ལོ་ཙ་བ་ཉི་མ་གྲགས་ཀྱིས་བསྒྱུར་པའི་སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་ཕྱེད་དང་ཉི་བརྒྱ་པ་ཞིག་ཡོད་ཡོད་ཀྱང་ལུང་དང་རྗེས་གནང་དེང་སང་མི་སྣང་། དཀོན་མཆོག་རྗེས་དྲན་མགོར་བཀོད་པ་གཅིག་གོ།

གསུམ་པ་བསྡུས་པ་ནི། བ་རི་ལོ་ཆེན་གྱིས་རྡོ་རྗེ་གདན་པ་ཆེ་ཆུང་དང་། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ། ཤི་ལ་ཨ་ཀ་ར། བེེ་རོ་ཙ་ན་རཀྴི་ཏ་བཅས་ལྔ་ལས་ཞུས། སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་རེ་རེའི་གཤམ་ན་འགྱུར་གྱི་ཁ་བྱང་ཡོད་ཅིང་། སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་དགུ་བཅུ་གོ་གཉིས་ལ་རིགས་མཐུན་སྡེབས་པས་རྗེས་གནང་བདུན་བཅུ་དོན་དགུ་ཡོད་དོ། དཔེ་རྙིང་ལ་ལར་ལོ་ཙ་བ་གཞན་གྱིས་བསྒྱུར་བ་བསྣན་ནས་སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་བརྒྱ་བྱས་མོད་ཀྱང་། བ་རིའི་འགྱུར་མིན་ནོ།
