Pandita Hats Page
The most common style of hat and also the earliest is believed to have originated in India and is the Pandita hat. The hat can be worn upright on the head, flat folded and laid across the top of the head, or again folded and placed over the right or left shoulder. The images in this gallery exhibit the hat as it is folded flat and placed lying across the top of the head with the lappets draped down from the back of the head. (See examples of the draped lappets: HAR #65232, #91664 ).
