There are only so many different styles of Himalayan sculptural art. Each of the major styles can be recognized by various characteristics. After identifying the principal characteristics and following a comparison with examples of the other known styles a style name should be easily arrived at. Knowing the style name then an approximate region and time period can be ascertained.
