Buddhist Deity: Vairochana (Sarvadurgati)

This form of Vairochana, surrounded by various buddhas and bodhisattvas, belongs to the set of five paintings which collectively make up all the deities belonging to the mandala of Vairochana and the 1000 Buddhas according to the Sarvadurgati Parishodhana Tantra.

"...the Bhagavan Sarvavid with a body white in colour, four white faces and two hands in meditative equipoise holding a five pointed vajra above. Adorned with various jewels ? sparkling and all pervasive, seated in vajra posture above a lotus and moon." (Shalu Thogme, date unknown).
