Interpretation / Description

Ngondzog Gyalpo Buddha: (ston pa mngon rdzogs rgyal po) the Teacher King of Complete Realization from the Nyingma Revealed Treasure tradition called the Three Inner Cycles of Peaceful Deities. Seated beneath the buddha are the three bodhisattvas blue Vajrapani, white Avalokiteshvara and yellow Manjushri.

This painting depicts five principal figures from the larger group of Twelve Dzogchen Buddhas of the Nyingma Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The complete painting set probably consisted of three or five compositions.
