Interpretation / Description

Unidentified Dalai Lama. Previously identified as the Sixth Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso, probably mistakenly.

Bottom center is Vaishravana riding a lion.

Bottom left is Shing Cha Chen, the "King of Qualities" one of the five forms of the protector Pehar Gyalpo. Blue, riding a horse, holding an axe and lasso.

Bottom right is Dra Lha Kye Chigbu, "King of Speech", another of the five forms of Pehar, red, riding a mule, holding two staffs.

This cannot be the last painting in the set because the five forms of Pehar are not complete.

Nick Dharmadi 9-2026.
