Interpretation / Description

Bhrikuti with one face and four hands as the central figure in the composition of the Five Deity Amoghapasha.

Bhrikuti is peaceful in appearance, blue/green in colour, black hair, with one face and four hands. She wears peaceful ornaments and garments, seated in a posture with both legs relaxed.

"Lord of compassion Noble Lokeshvara,
Amoghapasha and wrathful Hayagriva,
Ekajati and goddess Bhrikuti;
Noble Five Deities gathered together, I bow"
(bod brgyud nang bstan lha thsogs chen mo bzhugs so).

At the bottom right corner is the principal deity Lokeshvara, white with two hands. At the top left is wrathful Hayagriva, red with one face and four hands. At the bottom left is Amoghapasha, seated, red with one face and four hands. At the top right is wrathful Ekajati, blue/black, standing, with one face and eight hands.
