Interpretation / Description

Vaishravana, Lion-riding (Tibetan: nam to se, seng ge shon. English: the Son of Nam To who Rides on a Lion). Orange in colour with one face and two hands he holds a banner upraised in the right and a mongoose in the lap held with the left. Riding atop a white snow lion he is surrounded by eight horsemen. At the top center is the wrathful bodhisattva Vajrapani.
