Interpretation / Description

AMNH Description

This painting depicts Indian and Tibetan teachers of the Lamdre (Margapala) lineage identifiable by inscription. The central figure is Drokmi Lotsawa wearing a red pandita hat and a skull cup filled with blood. At the top left is Avadhutipa, top right is Gayadhara. At the bottom left is Seton Kunrig, bottom right is Shangton Chobar.
