Paintings Attributed to the Artist Konchog Trinle Lhundrub

Based on inscriptions on the reverse of one or more of these four compositions the set was completed by the Mentangpa artist Konchog Trinle Lhundrub from Lhodrag, mid 17th century. They were painted in Shigatse at Samdrub Tse of Tashi Lhunpo monastery. The research scholar, Palden Tsering, presented a paper on this topic in Hangzhou, China at the Tibetan Art & Archeology conference some three years past. He currently works as a research scholar at the Potala Palace museum. These four compositions currently reside in the Potala Palace, in Lhasa, Tibet.

Questions:
- If this set is by a Menri artist then why are there so many Khyenri Tradition stylistic elements?
- If the Karmapa composition is from the 17th century then it must follow that the 19th century artist Khazi Lhazo is copying the design of the chairs & thrones from this much earlier painting set?
- The close cropped hair of Marpa is generally a characteristic of the 18th century and Situ Panchen Chokyi Jungne, did he copy this 17th century already existing model?
- Is it possible the inscription on the reverse of the painting identifying the artist Konchog Trinle Lhundrub was added later?
- Is it possible that there is an earlier and a later artist named Konchog Trinle Lhundrub?
