The images below are part of a larger Ling Gesar painting set probably having as many as thirty-one or more individual compositions. The set was believed to have been commissioned by the 15th Karmapa, Kakyab Dorje(1870/71-1921/22) in the early 20th century. The two images below depict two of the Thirty Warrior Heroes that belong to the retinue of Ling Gesar. Only two paintings are currently known to exist but more are likely to appear in other collections. As yet the two paintings are not individually identified.
