Early Himalayan and Tibetan paintings done in a dominantly Indian style have also been called Kadam style paintings referring to the tradition of the Kadampa founded by Jowo Atisha, Dromton and Putowa in the late 11th century. The modern western term of Taglung style painting also refers to Indian style in Tibet.
