Private 4: Buddhas

Three Jataka Tales (Palpung) compositions from a painting set of an unknown total number. The thirty-four previous life stories of Shakyamuni Buddha according to the classical text Jatakamala and supplemented with an additional sixty-seven stories by the 3rd Karmapa Rangjung Dorje. This composition containing eleven paintings is thought to be commissioned by Situ Panchen Chokyi Jungne in 1726. (See blockprint set).
