Interpretation / Description

Arhat: older in appearance, with a moustache, beard and balding, he holds a stick in the right hand and performs the mudra (gesture) of explication with the left. The left leg is extended as he sits atop a rock outcropping. See a set of paintings that are very similar in style and composition and very likely part of the same set as the arhat painting shown here..
