Interpretation / Description

This image is possibly a Shamar or a Gyaltsab. Note the double vajra symbol on the front of the hat and the side cloud motif trailing to the front as does the black hat motif of the Karmapas. The Shamar red hat cloud motif trails to the back. Artists are not always careful or consistent with the Karma Kagyu hat ornamentation or incised motifs.
