Painting Set: Bardo Deities (Buddhas)

This set of five paintings depicts each of the five symbolic Buddhas in both a wrathful and a peaceful form, surrounded by retinue figures. At the bottom of the composition are fantastical hell scenes reminiscent of Bosch paintings. Currently there are only two paintings from the set known to exist.
