Sculpture: Monastic Shirt (Square Edges)

Monastic Shirt (Rounded Edges) | Monastic Appearance

The square shoulder pieces are called elephant ears. The two open folds crossed over and down the front are called the elephant tusks. Under the two armpits are eighty-four pleats representing the Eighty-four Mahasiddhas. The shirts are typically maroon, orange, red, or yellow coloured. The Bon religion prefers a blue colour.
